I was very interested in art and sewing in High school. I enjoy many different outlets for my creativity. I have been teaching in a preschool classroom for over 20 years. During that time I made many different teacher made activities (games, felt board stories and songs, math and science activities). I am now in special ed after school program and I still bring in many craft activities for the children to explore, trying to help them find a Zen moment. We all need that.
I started sewing and crafting when I was a child. I was blessed to have 5 generations living in our family. During the summers we would often spend time with Grandparents and Great Grandparents. We would craft, sew, knit, play outside on my their farms. There was no TV, I mean that literally. They did receive a TV signal, one channel, and cable did not reach them at the time-of course satellite was not invented yet-lol. My kids think I am really old. One of my Great Grandmothers made beautiful quilts and knitted, the other was a fabulous cook and her gift was teaching me to make bread and her wonderful sourdough cinnamon rolls(heaven). My Grandmother were both wonderful seamstresses and helped me learn to sew. My first sewing sewing machine was her old Singer Fashion Mate (it was older than me) I used it well into my 30's. I still love Singer's. I love my machines, I just got a new embroidery machine and I am loving it!
Currently, I am mostly experimenting around with my new machine and designs for my sweet new grandson E. I have made a few items for my twin girls K & Z.
They you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to read my ramblings. I hope you enjoyed your visit.
